From casual browsing re – Ancestry related threads/conversations/research, etc. – Americans can catch a lot of flack for tying themselves to, or getting excited about, the places that their ancestors came from before the ‘American’ part happened. And I get it – there can be a tendency to associate the shared DNA heritage as a shared culture and it isn’t the same thing. However, I wish I could convey that there’s a fascination, an excitement, almost even a comfort, in understanding where the people, who made you ‘you’, came from and how they made a journey across an ocean, leaving another world behind them and what was that life like?

Y’all, I’m fascinated and want to learn about these areas that a Great-X-Grandparent (like, probably 1600’s/1700’s 😂) at some point, called home. K’thanks for helping a nerdy, American fan girl out ❤️✌️
