  1. Good man Michael, the right wing nutters and the scumbags have declared their complete and utter contempt for the rest of us in this country. Hopefully this will turn public sentiment fully against them and force the powers that be to properly deal with these absolute effing assholes.

  2. The knuckledraggers involved in the rioting and looting will pay no heed to this. Even with the majority of Irish society calling them out for what they are, they’ll forever be wedded to their beliefs. It’s all they’ve got to make up for their own failures in life.

  3. This is a very shameful day in this country’s history

  4. I downloaded twitter just to see what the anarchy is all about. It is strange to see the loudest of the bunch on twitter calling for action in the streets aren’t even Irish, they are British and American right wingers. Just stirring things up from far away, madness

  5. Why are these people being cheered on in r/europe?. I thought this would also be the case here but all i see is condemnation (and rightfully so).

  6. It’s time to drive these fuckers into the sea. The majority are being overrun by little scumbags. Round them up and put them on an island. Let their braincells figure out how things work

  7. These statements mean nothing to the innocent people stabbed. It’s like when shootings happen in the US, no one cares about these statements. Action needs to taken. Life in prison is the minimum here.

  8. The fascist cunts who fomented this disgusting display are like the Irish who collected rents for the English absentee landlords, they want someone to look down on whilst getting fucked up the arse.

  9. If tonight doesn’t mark a pivotal change in how we police our country then we’re just fucked.

  10. Yank here, have tried BBC but it’s not citing any motives – know it’s still a developing story but can anyone share the motives as they are known at this time?

My love to the people of Ireland, this was shocking to hear 💚🤍🧡

  11. It stinks.
    Far right gains in Holland.
    Monstrous bastard stabbing kids.
    Far right riot.
Triple lock being defended by tankies & softy crazies who think little old Ireland can force reform on the UN instead of putting it in our own hands how we respond.

Kremlin’s Irish branch are smoking doobies & calling it a good day. Not by design, but they’re enjoying it nonetheless.

  12. Ireland is a rough country now the joyful innocence of many of our people is gone

  13. This has been coming a long time. Ever increasing reports throughout the year of people being attacked by these scum.

We need to face reality. Ireland has become far more violent and dangerous, due to a myriad of reasons.

I’d happily allow police to carry guns in order to protect themselves. They’re being fed to the slaughter house as it is.

  14. I’m perennially fucking devastated by this carry on.

I’m only 25 and probably hopelessly naive but growing up I had always thought we were better than this. In the last few years I’ve thought it fortunate that more than half the people I’ve worked with are foreign nationals, like a lot of people in this thread I’m sure, and I considered it a great strength of our country. Colleagues bringing in tins of little treats from their locale and absolutely lighting up when they see people tucking into them. It’s such a blessing to get to talk to people from different backgrounds and share with them and teach them things about Ireland and everything.

I don’t fucking want a country of 100% white Irish Christians. We’re tolerable in small doses but what a miserable insular place that would be. How fucking myopic it is to tar every immigrant with the same brush. When Seanie Whomeverthefuck assaults some woman in the pub you don’t hear for calls to expel all of his kind from the country, it’s only when they look different that they’re othered.

I’m trying so hard to be optimistic for our collective future but Jesus lads it’s getting harder week after week. Facebook Twitter and Tiktok lives have done a serious number on us by enabling all this rhetoric. Fellas who can’t string two sentences together with 10k+ concurrent viewers setting fire to PUBLIC FUCKING INFRASTRUCTURE that facilitates daily life for working class people.

I just don’t know what to do. I want to cry. I want to change their minds. Ireland isn’t a majority of decent people that I thought it was.

  15. Waiting for the statement about the arsonists and looters.

  16. Absolutely madness and a shame for Ireland. My little sister managed to get out from the city center after being trapped inside. Thank God my da was able to get in and get her out with a few others.

This is nothing short of a national shame.

  17. it’s not a level playing field…decency versus thuggery

  18. This has indeed been coming for years. The city has deteriorated. These scumbags run the place and they know it. Acting with total impunity.

The justice system enables this. These people are the true 5th column of Irish society, not immigrants. And I like many others have very big concerns around immigration and the way things are going, but it’s these animals that are the real issue. They are filth, subhuman and worthless and don’t deserve to be on the street.

  19. Good for the President for condemning the hooligans like this, and not letting there be any ambiguity about his feelings. Good man; you can always rely on him to articulate appropriate outrage. None of the ‘decent people on both sides’ twaddle from MDH.

  20. The sad irony that it was a Brazilian deliveroo driver that stopped the attacker. The very scumbags that are rioting oblivious to this fact are the same type of toerags that make life hell for these drivers on a daily basis.

  21. If these cunts out on the street right now aren’t caught and given a very heavy sentencing, more of this shit will follow. Make examples of them all.

  22. For years, people have been trying to warn about the rise of the far right in Ireland. This was largely ignored by the government, media and public. Now we are getting to see what happens when you choose to ignore it.

Yes, some are just the usual troublemakers but when there are nefarious agitators nudging them on, it’s more than that.
