Seems like it’s an unpleasant and dangerous career, and we ought to be encouraging young people to avoid it in favour of safer ones. We shouldn’t be helping kids to study music if it’s this mentally harmful

As the article says it’s probably at least in part that it’s a very insecure career which does make it hard to see how it can be easily solved.
Is their level of poor mental well-being more prevalent than other industries? It’s likely high across the UK right now
