Looks like I’m forced to reconsider the landscaping layout of my backyard.
I was looking forward to housing a new elephant next spring.

This is good news but this made me chuckle. The way it’s worded makes it sound like there’s free-roaming elephants and great apes in Ottawa that nobody is allowed to try to catch.
You can’t keep native species like skunks and racoons, that’s crazy talk, but unless there is a specific municipal by-law prohibiting it, you can keep all the exotic predators you want.
We aren’t even allowed to keep chickens. Are you telling me I could’ve had an elephant all along????
That’s fucked up Monkey Tennis for me then
Unwavering life long Leaf fan here…
Am I considered a “captive monkey” ?
Lions and tigers and bears are still okay though right?
So zoos too?
Yet America still has prisons (“zoos”) with elephants and other animals languishing and suffering.
Just curious but how many captive elephants are there in Ottawa?
I get the monkey part as being plausible, but who the Hell just had an Elephant in Ottawa?
Wild town, Ottowa. Enough people keeping random elephants that they had to ban it.
(Yes, I get what they’re doing, and I get this is using “Ottowa” like you might say “Washington” for US federal laws – i.e. “Stupidly.” – but really tihs headline makes it sound like the people of Ottowa are just hoarding elephants and apes in their homes and that’s just WAY MORE HILARIOUS even if this is a Good Thing.)
so good! keep it up!
Oh great now the Elephants can roam the streets of Ottawa freely.
Dude looks like Alan Wake with an even worse haircut

But rhinos and tigers are still ok, right?
