This is very interesting to me since Human Rights Watch has made extremely serious allegations during the Israel/Hamas war including that the Israeli military is using white phosphorous in Gaza. Most of the articles referencing this claim are using HRW as their source. I’m not denying or disproving the claim because I haven’t found enough information on any other news sources that are not using HRW as their main source. The HRW made this conclusion through a video and also two witnesses who discussed the distinctive smell. However , I haven’t seen this reach many news outlets or channels and haven’t seen many Palestinian activists discuss this either so I was curious about this
Qatar and it’s state owned media conglomerate “Al Jazeera” have a vested influence in shaping the narrative of this conflict not only within the region but also for international consumption. Who knows what kind of tampering in the dissemination of information has occurred.
This kind of journalistic tampering only exacerbates the difficulty of distinguishing what is fake news. As people will frequently cite whatever they may (or may not) hear, shaping their perception of the conflict.
Who would have guessed that an anti-Israel organization is funded by Qatar… Always gotta follow the money.. it’s a familiar story.. btw, same goes for some US universities…
