Wtf how did he not notice the drone 10ft above his head or the grenade falling right on his head? Maybe he’s hypothermal, moving his hand to keep it warm out of reflex while being basically unconscious aleady.
The guy next to him didn’t even wake up! I assume he’s not dead because of his thermal signature.

drone seemed pretty low but i guess if there is shooting going on somewhere you can’t hear it. Also did not react when the grenade landed, i guess he was probably half afsleep anyway. but the guy next to him is weird. Even if you are completely exhausted you would expect some kind reaction. if this does not wake you up what the hell does. maybe he did indeed recently passed. weird
Am i tripping or did the friction from the grenade hitting his helmet generate enough heat to make a hot spot and actually be picked up by the thermal

Assuming that the speed of this clip is not altered, it only took ~1.5 sec for the grenade to hit the ground, which seemingly indicates that the drone is only ~10 meter above the ground. Not sure why the soldier didn’t hear the drone noise, maybe because he’s already deaf due to earlier explosion, or he just really enjoyed humming to himself?
The other soldier seems dead or almost dead so I doubt he was able to fall asleep.

Even in the pitch black, everyone around you cold, hungry, ravaged by war and terrified there’s still no let up. The firing in front of you stops but you just end up getting killed from above.

Drugged up soldiers
It’s always funny to see all the comments claiming he is drunk or stupid or what not, wondering how he could not notice.
People really don’t shine at putting a video or image in perspective.
You don’t know how the situation around him was, what the sounds were like and what his state was.
Imagine being half deaf from artillery and continuously getting shit thrown against your body, from all the explosions. (Dirt / rock / parts of metal / equipment parts / wood etc) also most soldiers at the direct front don’t really get sleep, so you’re sleep deprived aswell, maybe hungry thirsty and cold.
You can’t compare your perception from your cosy home, watching a video, with some on the front lines of war.
