I saw that on the news last night, it looked like a really good bit of work by the crane driver.
I couldn’t tell from the footage but presume he was on an adjacent building and happened to have the cage to hand. Had it been the same building, I suppose he’d need a helicopter rescue if he couldn’t climb down because of the fire.
Fair play. These are the kind of people that should be celebrated. We give out OBEs for less worthy deeds.
Forgive me for being unduly cynical, but I wouldn’t be that surprised if he were to get sacked for doing it without a lift plan.
“I don’t want to blow it up too much, I’m not that sort of person,” he said.
Shouldn’t have to pay for a pint for a while.
I bet he’d daydreamed about that sort of situation a hundred times.
