  1. I think the Express Editor has a Headline Template that just begins *’Fury at….’* and theres a mandatory quota for how many times it has to be used in the calendar year

  2. • The largest of its kind, *Understanding Society* is a longitudinal UK household study that has followed a representative sample of households since 2009, with the aim of “capturing life in the UK in the 21st century”.

    • Academics at the University of Bath analysed 3,183 couples involved in the study. Questions about how people voted in the 2016 referendum were recently added.

    • Among those surveyed for the research in the top 10 percent by a cognitive performance metric, 73 percent voted to remain in the EU. And in the bottom 10 percent by the same measure, only 40 percent did. The findings were published in the journal *PLOS One*.

    • The authors say their results suggest that “low cognitive ability makes people more susceptible to misinformation and disinformation” such as the supposed £350 million savings that would go to the NHS. [[*PLOS One*](https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0289312)]

    • Reclaim MP Andrew Bridgen argued the study demonstrated evidence of “indoctrination of younger people”, pointing to the fact the “older and wiser” in our society tended to vote Leave.

  3. The real question now is should we disenfranchise stupid people?

  4. The funniest Brexit study was the one that found Leave voters changed their pants less often than Remainers.

  5. And yet, they are still more intelligent than our Idiotic, lying MP’s.

  6. As soon as someone goes down the “the better educated are just more indoctrinated” route you know they are straying onto thin ice.

  7. I cut all my Leave voting friends off. Don’t regret it when I see stuff like this.

Edit: I don’t care if you are offended. All the leave votes name-calling just prove the article right.

  8. 99.9% of people are idiots. Fortunately, I belong to the 1% of intelligent people

  9. Fuck this divide and conquer bullshit, we all live in the UK and all eat the same shit sandwich.

  10. Sounds like one of them got it, passed it around, and now things are getting ugly.

  11. Do we regularly study and publish intelligence levels in voters depending what they vote for?

  12. Well, they are lousy at doing their homework on the subject before voting for it, at the very least.

  13. One thing I have noticed about leave voters. They are bad winners in the same way that people can be bad losers.

You’d think they could just sit nice n smug having won and be happy with the consequences of their actions. But no, they are still just as angry and argumentative after getting exactly what they wanted. Brexit and a hard one at that.

If any leave voters agree with me fine but if you want to argue it probably proves my point..

  14. When are Brexit voters not furious at something? That’s pretty much their default state.

  15. The only thing that annoys stuff like this is that its quite pointless. Everyone has a vote, also the less intelligent.l and they matter as much.

And IMO its not just less intelligent. Its also just not politically savvy people or people that barely care.

  16. I’d like to know what goes through the average Brexit voter’s mind when ~~reading~~ hearing about this poll?

  17. “And we can’t say say Merry CHRISTmas anymore!” (cit)

  18. Anyone with any common sense knew that Brexit would be risky, filled with uncertainly, and certainly wouldn’t be a quick win leading to riches for everyone. The only thing it had going for it was pride. If pride was more important than tossing your country into a risky social and economic state, then you won.

  19. FURY!!! FURY!!! FUuuuRRRRRyyyyyYyyyYyy!!!!!!!! – Fuck off Daily Express.

  20. Fury at study that suggests people whose stupidity we preyed upon are stupid.

  21. This is condescending tone is part of the reason people voted out

  22. I’m sure billionaires are more intelligent as a group, in terms of IQ, education etc., than middle class Redditors here.

Does that therefore mean they are on the correct side of the debate on wealth inequality?

Or is there such a thing as “self-interest”, which has obvious biasing effect?

The arguments on here look a little daft to be honest. It’s as if concepts like “self-interest” and “class system” need to be explained to a lot of British people for the first time ever.

  23. Bobby! If those kids could read, they’d be very upset! .jpg

  24. Coincidently, racists are also less intelligent than none racists 😉
