I just came across [this Video](https://youtu.be/HNh10ydJwIc?si=nF8A7Vc9BOBuXVs7), Ukraine using Steam Decks to control remote vehicles and remote MGs.

I’ve never heard of it before but I find it very interesting.

What are your thoughts about this?

  1. Killing Orcs…
    Best. Steam. Download.

Thank you to all the amazing Ukrainians who stand up for freedom – you have inspired us to fight for what we believe.

  2. Very cool! The SteamDeck is a relative powerful computer that runs a version of Arch Linux. It is likely quite easy to repurpose with apps to control drones, drivers and APIs for the multiple controllers on the device is already present in the system.

  3. Makes a lot of sense. It is off-the-shelf hardware with the required capabilities and it is easy to set up with custom software.

  4. Somewhere in the Soviet Union, late 1980s:

*”Your love of the west is just crazy! What are you going to do, fight wars with VIDEOGAMES?!”*

  5. Oh valve, you sweet sweet devil, I didn’t know you made first person shooters! Jokes aside though, it is quite a clever and unintended use for such an interesting machine.
