“Trump and his lawyers have argued that any gag order against a presidential candidate is a violation of his First Amendment rights.” —> so the DC appeals court feels that first amendment applies to a presidential candidate specifically? i.e. you and i can’t bully and intimidate the court system but front running candidates can? is there selective applicability of constitutional amendments to subgroups of citizens?
I thought the candidates were interviewing for a job for all of us. Now they get special privileges the rest of us don’t? Just as a candidate?

I really hope the DC trial is over before election day. Bonus points if he is also forced to sell Mar-a-lago before then as well.

How do we have gag orders, as kind of a well known process within the justice system, if they go against the first amendment? The argument that a gag order is taking rights away from anyone is absurd. We would’ve had many challenges to this process if it were actually restricting anyone’s right to free speech. What we have is a system that coddles the ex-president, because this is the first time we’ve ever had to deal with this kind of stuff. The precedent is set…use it. Stop making excuses about why he can’t be treated like everyone else. How are we all created equal when this kind of shit is being done? This is just ridiculous.
Is he in jail? Then no, he hasn’t faced a single consequence.

The number of people who are willing to throw their lives away for this orange loser is breathtaking. I just don’t understand how someone could be so deep into MAGA that they’re willing to commit felonies just to support the man.
Violent threatening, inciteful speech against the judiciary is not free speech. The judiciary is unable to respond, and must be able to without outside influence do their job. This is free speech. Limitations are reasonable.
