Burn it much slower when you’ve got a bit of heat in there and save yourself a load of wood. You want “simmering” rather than full on flames that produce less heat.

They are lovely and warming, but horrendous for health and the environment. One of these is equivalent to several HGVs churning out particulate emissions. In many areas these are the biggest contributors to air pollution and associated health conditions.
Yep sure heats up a room quick. When we had ours fitted I was a bit surprised how little the heat travels thou out the house even with doors open.
