  1. > Sleet and snow are expected to fall on the northern regions of Scotland and elevations surpassing 400m (1,312ft).

    That’s it

  2. Everyone get the credit cards, re-mortgages and loans ready, bend over and prepare to get fucked for having the crazy idea of heating your home come energy bill time.

  3. And yet I’ll still be sweating on the central line.

  4. How is this happening this time of year, what’s going on?

  5. Highland cows are bracing for snow. Those of us in the south are starting to have to explain what snow is to children because they’ve never seen it in real life!

  6. Crack up the heating to max, oh wait, maybe not. No sunny uplands then.

  7. I remember when I first came to the UK and there was a panic about snow as if armaggedon and the sky will be falling was soon to be upon us all.

Then you had what I would call a light dusting and I was wondering where the snow is. Expectation did not meet reality that day.

Granted I come from a part of Canada where digging yourself out the house is normal.

  8. That ofgem price increase will help in Jan. The poor energy companies need to ensure they pay those special shareholder dividends.

  9. The British public love a headline about the weather, even if it’s just fringe cases of ‘extreme’.

  10. why do they say that everyone is braced for stuff like this. i never braced for anything

  11. I live on Merseyside and we never get snow here. Last two times the ISS astronauts got those photos of the whole of the UK covered in snow (2009 and 2011 I think) there was a clear greeny-brown bit of land here.

Not seen proper snow since the 90s.
