  1. > President Joe Biden on Friday said the initial release of 24 hostages by Hamas is just the beginning of a series of events that will hopefully see the militant group free “dozens” more who were taken during the 7 October terrorist attacks.

    > Speaking from Nantucket Island, where he spent the Thanksgiving holiday with his family, Mr Biden called the freeing of this first group in exchange for a four-day pause in fighting “the start of a process,” the terms of which were worked out over a period of intense diplomatic efforts by US, Qatari, Egyptian and Israeli officials as well as representatives of Hamas, which serves as the de facto government in Gaza but has long been considered a terrorist organisation by the US and most Western nations.

    > “We expect more hostages to be released tomorrow. And more than a day after more than a day after that. Over the next few days, we expect that dozens of hostages will be returned to their families,” said the president, who acknowledged that the first group of 24 did not include any of the American nationals who were taken by Hamas during the attacks.

    > “We also remember all those who are still being held and renew our commitment to work for their release,” he added. “We also will not stop until we get these hostages brought home and an answer to their whereabouts”.

  2. CNN reported Israeli artillery continued for about 15 minutes after the ceasefire began. Israeli officials seem eager to get back to their “war.”

Edit: This comment went from +10 to -5 in a couple of minutes. Maybe there are a lot of Israel supporters lurking, but Israel also has a known social media division in the IDF that works to spread pro-Israel propaganda. Worth considering.

  3. The IDF continues shooting civilians. We’ll just look the other way.

  4. Great work, JB. Glad to have you at the helm during this difficult time in the world

  5. Sure, it’s going well if you ignore the fact that both factions are still firing at each other lmao

  6. Wow, I continue to be amazed by Joe’s leadership skills. It’s very unfair that he is being criticized by ppl in his own darn party!

  7. There is no amount of bodies that will ever make Biden look at Arabs as human. I know that now.

  8. The number of comments here just blatantly making up bullshit is getting obnoxious.

If Israel and Hamas were still firing at each other, it would be the top of all the news sites. Stop trolling. You aren’t helping anyone this way.

  9. The increase in “worst president ever” memes on Twitter, with no reasoning as to why, is quite noticable lately.

  10. Anyone who thinks that the Muslim ban party or their Sweet Potato Hitler would be doing a better job than Biden with this whole thing is a fucking moron.

  11. Ah, a ceasefire. What’re the numbers at on days before Hamas breaks yet another ceasefire? Two? Four? It’s basically clockwork at this point.

Granted, this time Israel will be ready, hopefully. I’d hate to see another 10/7 because they let their guard down.

  12. I hope he pushes hard for a 2 state solution where territorial boundaries are actually enforced by the UN. It’s the only real way to get Hamas out of power while ensuring that Palestinian people are not completely ignored.

  13. Does Genocide Joe even know what room he’s in? Vote this man out.

  14. Glad to hear it! Sending Positive vibes and prayers

  15. Party unification prior to a presidential election? Is this new?
