I for one am shocked. It’s almost as if opponents of the legislation are just making shit up.
I’m not sating that there mightn’t be a noticeable increase in drug use but I think such fears are generally overblown, as it doesn’t make much sense in the bulk of cases.
‘Hmm, BBQ beers at Steve’s on Sunday? I could probably save €4.12 by getting blasted on crank instead’
You mean I’m not going to buy yokes instead of cans for a quiet night in after work?
Then explain why there’s so many Scottish people on Gurners of the Galaxy

If Scotland cares so much about substance abuse why is their death rate from drugs increasing year over year?
To be honest, if MUP caused people to move to Cannabis instead then we’d probably see a benefit to public health overall.
Media need something to rile up people.
I recon minimum pricing will probably do good in terms of alcohol consumption, but I think the big issue is that Ireland is really expensive as it is. Everything is more expensive here than the UK (bar maybe London).
Using pricing as a deterant will also impact the lower income levels too, while the upper income levels will remain largely unchanged. All these extra costs make it much harder for someone to save and invest in their future.
Is it just me or was there no solid argument for MUP in that interview.
3% reduction is nothing in the grand scheme of things especially considering our consumption has been reducing for years.
No because it’s still dirt cheap there. The price went up slightly. They still have buy one slab get one free deals. It’s like comparing apples to oranges.
