Ah yes, the homogeneous Southern Irish accent found from Donegal to Cork, Dublin to Galway.
I know it’s not the biggest problem in the world but I think this shows you the issue with the term ‘British Isles’. It’s part of a package of passive ignorance of Ireland. ‘British Isles’, ‘Southern Irish’, and even including the Republic in with the UK in polls is a bit problematic.

They’ve never heard the Louth accent, have they.
There should be a black circle over Dublin. Nobody on earth has heard “two euro for a hostel” and thought about how lovely these people sound
Because Cork really sounds like Kerry and North Dublin. Scottish Highland accents are beautiful too.
