Bought this non-alcoholic Glögi in Finland and would like a recommendation on the best alcohol to use when heating it on the stove. What do you use?!

  1. Just don’t boil it! Not even let it get to that. And remember alcohol evaporates before the water in the Glögi.

  2. Any good red wine does the job. Heat glögi first, dont boil, pour in mug, add wine and almonds and raisins to your taste.

  3. 2 parts glogi, 2 parts fruity red wine, 1 part Vana Tallinn. (If you don’t have Vana Tallinn, put in spiced rum, sugar and a vanilla stick).

Add cinnamon sticks, raisins and if you like cardamom pods and/or star anise. If you want it a bit sweeter, try putting in a bit of orange juice

  4. Triple secCointreau or other orange liqueur is my new favourite! Just add it after you have warmed up the glögi, don’t let it reach boiling temperature!

  5. The bar I work at we always heated it and added a shot of Koskenkorva, a shot of Disaronno, orange peel and optional scoop of raisins and almond slivers

  6. I heard an interesting drink idea from a friend: glögg, red wine and Coce. Just heat the soda together with the wine and glögg and add some sugar if you like the drink to be sweeter.
