Could the Dutch military conquer Belgium? (2017)

  1. Probably not. We’re still in Europe and every nation has allies. I’d think they would intervene.

In the past Belgium wanted to, but the French said no. France was stronger than Belgium, so nothing happened.

After WW1 Belgium wanted parts of the Netherlands again (Zeeuws-Vlaanderen + Limburg). Again there was a refusal of other countries.

  2. Several important things haven’t been factored in:

    – we can expect mass Dutch defections once the smell of our excellent cooking wafts over behind their lines.

    – blocking off the vital logistical artiry that connects their country with France, making the yearly mass emigration of “sleurhutten” unaccessible will eventually lead to an inevitable civil war within a maximum of 3 years. After which we can simply mop up any resistance with mass aerial dropping of cans of premium belgian beer (anything with alcohol % above 5% really), after which it will probably take them several months to sober up enough to realize they have been conquered.

  3. Well there’s 1.5x as many of them, tech level is about the same BUT with the caveat that they spend more money per capita on their military.

    Dutch SHOULD win, no brainer.

edit: AND video says as much lol
