Horrible case and an awful situation for the remaining brother. A loved one going missing is something that scares me more than almost anything else.
Though the article is a bit odd. Doesn’t mention the fact there is a well known prime suspect. It’s unsolved in the legal sense, but there’s a pretty established theory.
Poor Lee – can totally understanding him just running on auto pilot since the documentary came out. He must have felt like a man on a mission. So much energy and so much time though, I really hope it’s not all for nothing. Him and his family deserve some closure – and if his brother has died then they deserve to be able to bring his body home and finally have some peace.
Can’t quote the article since it’d rather crash every time I attempt to open it but:
This search was sparked because of a tip off from a man who reported seeing someone digging in the area around the time of their disappearance – Why have they only reported it now?
Not just this one, but tip offs in general that are along the lines of “I think I saw X on the day they disappeared 50 years ago”. Are they just sat in bed, scratching their heads and then suddenly remembering it? Or only now considering it might be relevant since nothing else has come forward? Always confused me when I hear about tip offs on decades old cold cases, especially when the tip off ends up being correct.
In the absence of evidence to the contrary, then the obvious is probably true
