  1. Mike Johnson accidentally revealed just how weak the Republican impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden is, when he failed to actually defend one of the central accusations against the president on the merits.

  2. Blowing a hole in it would mean there was something there from the beginning. There wasn’t ever any substance.

  3. Naw, facts blew a hole in the GOP impeachment lies…

  4. That impeachment inquiry is more holes than actual substance.

And it has about as much substance as the entirety of Lake Tahoe would have of Tylenol if I dropped one pill, came back a decade later, and filled a 10 milliliter dropper from a different part of the lake.

  5. It’s such a stupid accusation. Not only did Devon Archer testify that Burisma [wanted to keep Shokin](https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/04/us/politics/biden-devon-archer-testimony.html), but the State Department sent Biden a memo before his trip [telling him exactly what to say](https://justthenews.com/sites/default/files/2023-08/VPBidenTPUkraineMeetingShokin.pdf).

    >Your meeting with Poroshenko will be an opportunity to press for reenergizing the reform agenda, particularly critical progress on anti-
corruption, offer new U.S. support, and encourage Ukraine to continue its efforts at Minsk implementation, particularly on securing an agreement on local elections in the Donbas. Your last call with Poroshenko was November 5 and your last meeting was in New York on September 28.

    >There is wide agreement that anti-corruption must be at the top of this list, and that reforms must include an overhaul of the Prosecutor General’s Office including removal of Prosecutor General Shokin, who is widely regarded as an obstacle to fighting corruption, if not a source of the problem.

Biden did the opposite of what Burisma wanted under orders from the State Department.

  6. It’s more like the whole thing was a hole to start with and anything Mike Johnson or any other Republican can say or do is completely inadequate to actually fill it with something.

  7. I’m starting to think Mike’s not actually all that bright.

  8. I’m kind of sick of these articles acting like it matters. The inquiry could have more holes in it than fishnet and they’ll still go through with it because they need to damage Biden as possible going into the election and they know the vast majority of people who even bother to pay even a modicum of attention won’t look past the headline.

  9. Did real life Ned Flanders remember something about bearing false witness?

  10. The propaganda for the GOP’s Ukraine Bursima story is an impressive full 180° from the actual facts.

  11. Blew a hole into the as-yet unsubstantiated allegations of corruption as a smokescreen to vainly distract their lickspittle base from the reams of evidence showing their golden fat-assed calf is guilty of everything they’ve accused him of.

  12. “Nonsense, I’m the hole blower here!”

  13. I bet you MJ blows a lot of things. A lot of blowing and holes.

  14. How in the heck do you blow a hole through another hole?

  15. How much time and money have Trump, Giuliani, and team pissed away making up conspiracy theories instead of actually accomplishing anything? What a fucking bunch of asshats.

  16. One problem with this article, the reporter accepts the Republican talking point of lumping the Bidens together when talking about financial dealings. ““No one’s ignoring testimony,” Johnson said brusquely, before pivoting to listing foreign payments that the Bidens received.” That last phrase echoes how Republicans are trying to say that any foreign money received by Hunter was received by Joe. I wish media would clarify these points. Johnson wasn’t listing foreign payments the Bidens received, he was listing money Hunter received.

  17. He’s admitting that they don’t have the votes to authorize an impeachment inquiry, and without it the subpoenas are without any legal weight. The White House has already told them to pound sand.

  18. **From the article’**

Johnson held a Tuesday press conference with Representatives Jim Jordan and James Comer, who have spearheaded the investigation into Biden, to discuss the ongoing impeachment inquiry. Although Republicans have been levying various accusations against Biden for the past few months, making multiple allegations of political corruption, they have yet to produce any actual evidence demonstrating that their charges have merit.

  19. Saw this as “just blew a pole” and for a moment all that projection he does made sense.

  20. Ha! The Republicans don’t have proof and don’t care that they don’t have proof. Because until Mike Johnson just tipped his hand we all thought this was a valid inquiry. /s

  21. The republican’s ability to deflect, ignore, and stay on message is uncanny – some PR firm should be extremely proud of their work.

  22. They don’t care. They just want to try and score political points. They know they have no chance of removing him via impeachment, it’s just a complete clown show.

  23. I’m tired of reading about this shit.Wtf do these guys even do?

  24. Mike Johnson just blew a hole in the Swiss cheese Investigation.

  25. I can guarantee Mike Johnson has never blown a hole in his life.
