A map of the Scottish council areas with their logos

  1. A lot of these logos are pretty dreadful frankly – Renfrewshire Council is by far the standout and that’s not saying much. A lot of them feel pretty hopelessly generic, like you could swap out the council any not lose anything.

  2. Nice to see Shetland out of its box, and floating off the Wick coast…

  3. The Moray council logo looks like the cover of one of those old books about web design from the 1990’s.

  4. Always found it funny that Fife Council’s logo bigs up the way out of Fife.

  5. I think my favourite is Aberdeen. It uses the traditional coat of arms but the style has been adapted, too.

  6. The highland council logo should be down in Inverness, they have as little to do with us northerners as possible.

  7. P&K’s eagle clearly slaps, but I think Moray is an underrated retro vibe, probably the best thing about that place.

EdinbVrgh is obviously the stupidest, and most in need of a rebrand, and I’d like it if you make Clack’s a little smaller please.

Honourable mention to Renfrewshire too btw.

  8. I thought the borders one was a drawing of the backside of a donkey but it is a helmet.

  9. Perth & Kinross look like they’re ready to invade their western borders.

Highland has that old STV aesthetic ‘look we’ve joined the 1980’s.’

I tend not to associate Peregrine falcons with East Lothian, unless they’re stuffed or victims of wildlife crime.

Dumfries and Galloway really needed to embrace their Dolce and Gabbana possibilities.

    Stirling looks like road kill.

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar needs to explain why their ancient sailing boat has oars…
