They said she was in a car when it happened and was pulled out, so was it like a murder-suicide thing? I think mental hospital is more fitting here.
Why? Why would anyone do this who wasn’t completely insane – which would be grounds for institutionalisation rather than imprisonment. The details are unthinkable.
Women -particularly mothers- are often treated as being above the kind of dangerous & brutish, barbaric evil we see from men. But I’ve seen more criminal cases around mothers slaughtering their offspring than fathers in the last few years.
OK this lady clearly not mentally sound at the time of the crime – why else do people kill their own kids and attempt to take their own lives. And she has spent time in Central Mental Hospital since the murders.
So why no diminished responsibility plea? Or is there some threshold for diminished responsibility?
