Anti-choice Christians in Parliament launch triple attack on abortion rights

  1. It’s so disgusting that women across the globe are facing losing hard-won reproductive rights due to a rise of fundamentalist religious zealots and it’s even more depressing how dark-money from American Evangelical groups is trying to shift things here, despite wides-spread public support to keep things as they are.

The insidious rhetoric they use was being parroted at the National Conservative Conference earlier this year (Nat-C).

I’m sure more young couples would have children anyway if there was more economic support and leaders across the world weren’t failing the young with war-mongering and lack of action around climate change, etc.

  2. Why wouldn’t it list the Lords in question?

As an aside, I’m starting to get really militant in my atheism because of all these fucking theists trying to pass laws across the world.

  3. Fuck these people, take away their right to worship in peace, see how they like it.

  4. I’ll say it every time I see a discussion on this: abortive procedures aren’t just about choice, although choice is really fucking important too.

They’re healthcare too for women who have miscarried or have ectopic pregnancies. This can lead to sepsis and death for women when they can’t access this ([5 cases listed here](https://amp.theguardian.com/global-development/2022/may/07/killed-by-abortion-laws-five-women-whose-stories-we-must-never-forget) ).

  5. Bankrolled from top to bottom by the fundamentalist Christian Right from the US.

  6. If “pro-life” were really interested in stopping the preventable deaths of foetuses they would support reversible sterilisation in all men.

But funnily enough when it comes to regulating what a man can and can’t do with their balls it suddenly feels personal and like government over reach.

  7. Another American culture war making its way over, imagine being so arrogant and self centred you think your personal religious beliefs need to be enforceable by law.

  8. Let me guess I bet turning point is putting money up for this?

  9. Yeah good luck with that lol.

Has little to no support within the wider population. It’s political poison.

We aren’t the yanks. We’re not emotionally attached to this issue whatsoever, and there’s little chance of that changing.

  10. A disgusting attack on our rights again.

Why can’t they just be happy with having the right to not do so themselves but leave everyone else out of it.

I mean, Jacob Rees Mogg believes even victims of rape shouldn’t be allowed the right of an abortion.

Jacob Rees Mogg also makes profit from selling abortion pills in Indonesia.

  11. Religion. Keeping the human race in the dark for centuries.
