  1. Some of us just want a 2 hour break Jodie, not a life changing event.

  2. People like different things Jodie. You’re allowed to not care about them, other people are allowed to enjoy them as long as they want.

  3. Superhero films are escapism and I’m totally fine with that.

  4. Agreed, marvel movies have been a cancer to cinema, completely dumbed it down into the garbage that it currently is

  5. She is an incredible actor and I agree that Superhero movies have been saturating the market to the point of redundancy but in this insane and troubling world we occasionally need to just be entertained and not hit over the head with a serious thought provoking art film that could also serve as a cure for insomnia. Lighten up girl!

  6. Superhero movies are just the most recent way to express “heroes journey”. A narrative that is in the mythology of every culture, spanning our entire written history. It’s something that resonates with humans and it’s not going away so long as producers continue to find interesting ways to present their tales.

  7. “I hate superhero movies” is officially this decade’s “I don’t even own a TV”.

  8. I totally agree, speaking as a person with ZERO interest in super heroes. They just aren’t (our) thing

  9. I think “insert genre here” is a phase that’s lasted a little too long and hopefully people will be sick of it soon.

  10. I’m pretty sick of them myself. Done necessarily want to see them go away completely, but it’s definitely over saturated in the current day.

  11. No genre is invalid. Every genre brings someone a sense of happiness. Not all genres make people happy. Like…I get so tired of actors thinking superhero movies are like…”just” a paycheck. Super hero movies are meaningful to people. Disney/Marvel is somewhat ruining it now because they have reduced it to a cheap, factory made thrill ride. They hire directors to manage the set instead of actually carrying out a vision.

  12. Everyone hates making them too! Same flashy shit, same stupid story formula , same ole explosions, same horrid costumes…😒

  13. What does Ja Rule think about superhero movies? Tune in next time on r/entertainment to find out!

  14. All these people saying that superhero movies should be over or that there are too many….they never seem to say what genre they think should rise up to replace it.

    Detective thriller?

    Military sci-fi?

    Inspirational sports movie?

    Raunchy dude-bro comedy?

What do they think the answer is?

I maintain that the real is writing quality, not genre.

  15. Leave my Marvel movies alone. I don’t watch them to be life changing.

  16. I kind of agree. DC never got traction cause they can’t make a good movie but Marvel should of stopped after Endgame. Everything after that feels like they’ve overstayed their welcome.

  17. When Tony Stark died. That should have been the last one ever.

  18. It’s funny cause no Jodie Foster movie has “changed my life” either.

  19. They’re all the *same fucking movie*. Time to diversify…please.

  20. Why not make more of your preferred genre instead of taking one away from someone else’s?

  21. Nothing Jodie Foster has done ever changed my life. Just saying.

  22. The phase of Hollywood people whining that some type of movie that they personally don’t care for is popular has lasted a little too long also.
