I just read in a official (?) website that you can change your job after 1st year without any approval from Ausländerbehörde. Or I misunderstood it. Is there a new update which I am not aware of?

As far as I know you can’t change your job I’m the first two years. And even after two years, you need to go to Ausländerbehörde to remove your employer name before you can freely change your job.

  1. Yep, recent change: since 18 November 2023 there are new rules for Blue Cards, among them the provision that you can freely change your jobs after the first year. Within the first year you must notify them of a job change, they may suspend that job change and within 30 days reject your job change.
