Just another form of greenwashing
So the corn-capitol US that now pays farmers billions to waste their land growing field corn for cattle and hogs will now pay farmers billions to divert still more cropland to things other than feeding people?
This is simply insane, fueling planes with corn!!!
Remember when we started putting ethanol in gas and having the food market have to absorb some of the pressure of the energy market made food prices go up?
If I thought this “breakthrough” was serious I’d be more concerned.
They discuss the water issue with this solution in detail in the article, but has anyone quantified the actual net difference in carbon emissions if this was implemented vs standard aviation fuel?
The most recent data on ethanol confirmed it produces more emissions, not less.
