  1. Ah these things go past me all the time in Cambridge, they’re knee high and travel at walking pace. Strongly doubt the aul fella was in any danger, or being chased here, I imagine someone fucked up and broke something, and then tried to flee the scene and he thinks the robot uprising has begun.

Tbh I didn’t realise they were driven, I thought it was all clever satellite control. This makes more sense, I did wonder how they know when to stop at red lights at crossings…

  2. I’m getting slight Half-Life 2 vibes from this.

Where the manhacks are remote controlled.
Operators thought is was a purely fictional game, and unaware that their actions were killing resistance members.

  3. Sounds like it became sentient , Could become a character in its own film like WALL-E.

  4. If I had designed these then they would all be Daleks

  5. With proper training it won’t try, it will succeed at running over pedestrians.

    Sentience achieved.

  6. At least it hasnt got as modernised as JAPAN where apparently a Robot beat a guy to Death afer mmis-identifying him as some sort of Parcel. Just dont Order Pizza! Geddit I-Robot.

  7. > The robot had been delivering Co-op groceries to a customer in Northampton when it drove across the lawn of their neighbour and ran over a cat repellent device, snapping it in two.

    Good bot.
