After 360 days the Netherlands has a cabinet again

  1. So it’s 360 or 299 days? Because there is another post on the same subject that says 299 who was posted on the same time as yours.

  2. 299 wasted days due to a more and more splintered centre and wasted ( politically useless due to semi embargoed) seats at both extreme flanks.

VVD ( = Rutte) being “ incontournable” ( unavoidable= I like the French word) due to CDA not willing to go without VVD and other more rightwing parties being unacceptable for the center left and left parties unacceptable for VVD and CDA. D66 and CU definitely not being left themselves but economical rightwing with slightly more cosmopolitan flavor.

  3. So it took you 360 days just to get the VVD back into coalition with the D66, the ChristenUnion and the CDA, exactly the same parties as in the last government?

It seems to me that you are using the Union of Arras as a model a bit too much when it comes to forming governments /s

  4. A full year of them pretending not to be a government while still doing everything a government does just so we can get these incompetent fucks screwing the poor over and ignoring climate change for another four years.

    Woooooo.

  5. And it’s the exact same coalition.

At this point, what does D66 gain by staying in coalition with parties more right-wing than themselves again?

  6. It’s weird how in the Netherlands the King is always present in the official Cabinet photos, whereas in the UK the Queen would never appear in public with the Cabinet – it would be seen as ‘too political’.
