  1. “We have the technology. We can rebuild them. We can make them better than they were.”
    The Six Million Dollar DoDo

  2. Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should

  3. “”Scientists have previously introduced PGCs to create a chicken fathered by a duck – for which a duck embryo was injected with chicken PGCs, producing an adult duck with the sperm of a rooster. It then bred with a hen, which gave birth to a chick.””

I love science as much as the next guy but it really seems like the scientists went unchecked on this one… like Christ alive, was this a kink gone too far or was the original endgame of bringing the DoDo back always going to involve this much beastiality??

  4. My favorite example of de-extinction is when it happened naturally. Some birds from Africa migrated to some islands in the Indian ocean and evolved into a new species. Then the islands sank and the new species went extinct. Then the islands reemerged and birds from the same original African species repeated the migration. Because conditions were identical and they started from the same base genome, convergent evolution resulted in the same species evolving twice.

  5. ARK players getting their brass knuckles ready as we speak.

  6. I can’t wait till I can have a pet dinosaur! I’d settle for a Thylacine tho.

  7. Like the permafrost mammoths, we have to be extremely patients
