Three important words, but some people try and have you believe that this is not of public interest.
I don’t think we should have a discretionary planning system, and I think that the locals-only laws are insane and killing rural communities.
TDs are also supposed to represent their constituents, even people they know.
So this is a nothingburger to me.
Go on to any planning application and loads of them have a letter from a local TD supporting the development.
It’s a fucking farce that it’s accepted practice.

Reading the article, is my understanding that one of the grounds that her applications for PP was denied because she didn’t have a housing need because her parents owned 2 rental properties??
Are ABP expecting her parents to house their children forever?
Such a weird reason. What if the parents fell out with their daughter and they haven’t spoken in years?

As much as some good dirt has come out from it, Paddy Cosgrove and his vanity project is as much a cynical enterprise as anything else you’d care name. He funded the site simply because Leo and FG refused to give him tax breaks for his overpriced tech nonsense festival and hence publicly embarrassed him. I say this as someone who has worked in IT all my life – the government absolutely made the right call not bowing to Cosgrove.
I’d be afraid that given he royally fucked up Web Summit with his incompetence (saying about the only thing he ever has that I agree with, but anyone paying attention could have known what the consequences would be) he will fixate on trying to influence politics to his own ends in a more focused way.
