A Goldcrest I saw yesterday. Goldcrests are the smallest bird in the UK and weigh around the same as a 20 pence piece.

  1. They maybe the smallest, but they’re feisty… There are some on the campus where I work and they drown out the sparrows. Lovely critters

  2. My friend and I saw one the other day and were trying to remember what it was called. We both said “yellow-hat-bird” at the same time, so I don’t want to be difficult, but it’s two vs one here, I think you might be wrong.

  3. Have you ever seen a Firecrest? Just a wincy bit smaller!

  4. I’ve not seen them often, but the first time I did (not long after discovering they existed), there was a whole flock on the tree just outside the window. So diddy.

  5. Great photos! Next challenge is a firecrest if you can find one 🙂 Lovely birds.
