I’d say it is like a proto-Tampere. The environment is very similar and the population is about the same as Tampere 20 years ago.
Doesn’t have the same kind of history though. It began populating after the refugees of winter and continuation war settled there
I’ll be moving to Jyväskylä soon for studies. I’ve heard it’s a nice place and that significant portion of population consists of students, many of them coming from all around the world. Honestly, I’m looking forward to moving there 😀
For a city its ok, not instantly super depressing like Kouvola, Oulu or Helsinki.
