Hello,

I’m currently trying to book a trip to paris via train using [Bahn.de](https://Bahn.de). I’ve used this site before and booked it no problem from Trier > Saarbrucken > Paris. Right now I’m trying to book it and I keep receiving an error saying this :

## Reservation cannot be made

Unfortunately, a reservation is not possible for this connection. Due to compulsory reservation, a booking is therefore not possible. Please choose another connection.

I almost get to the payment page before I get this message. Is the train booked up? Maybe I’m doing this too late.

  1. Yes – seat reservations are obligatory for trains in France, so if there are no seats left, you can’t book a ride. (If the trip was exclusively within Germany, you could book a ride without a seat)

  2. I didn’t read your post and just saw the “Reservation can not me made” and knew it was a train to Paris. You can try to book the train on the SNCF site (where, btw, it’s usually cheaper than booking on db even when it’s the exact same train), but if it’s full on the SNCF site, it really is full and you can’t book it.
