Large tobacco companies like PMI and BAT have HQs in Switzerland, also some cantons allow smoking with 16 instead of 18/21 or did allow a few years ago.

One reason could be that in Switzerland you can buy cigarettes at 16 while most other countries only allow it at 18

Our mountain air is excessively clean, sometimes it is very difficult to tolerate it.
Only a few people go to a Gymnasium here and less well-educated people smoke more.
to reduce the stress of working
Because afte breathing the nice clean air of the alps, you really need to smoke so make it go away.
Really love to breathe the smoke smell at the terraces in the ski resort.
They can afford it.
Because that how you safeguard your sanity working 42,5+ hours. Make so pauses inbetween.
