You work with someone for so many years and they try to sell control of your creative work to some LLP … and then that person says they’re ‘deeply hurt’ when you try to stop them from giving that control to a faceless corporation.
I understand wanting to profit from years of hard work and trying to capitalize on a depreciating asset but damn, that is rough. Oates comes off as heartless in this situation.
You need an exit plan
It’s an old story. Business and money often lead to the end of a friendship and hurt feelings.
Saw H&O a few years ago. Hall phoned it in completely, Oates was giving his best.
It vexes me. I’m terribly vexed.
So am I. Hope they work this out.
