Finally over. Been an absolute nightmare having no busses for most of the past month or so.
Glad things can finally get back to normal.
There really are no winners from this. Go Ahead will have lost a lot of money of course. And for the drivers, an offer of 10.2% with no conditions was on the table prior to the start of the ‘indefinite’ strike. So 5 weeks of strike (on reduced pay) for an extra 1%…probably not worth it.
I think Unite will be sweating a bit, especially with the vote being pretty much 50/50 as a lot of drivers wanted a 13% raise, and parity with other go ahead companies (with no condition changes). It’ll be interesting to see what happens over the next couple of years off the back of this!
I mean it almost looks like . . . industrial action works?

The problem we have across the board in all jobs nevermind just bus drivers is everyone’s stagnated. Even though who’ve had decent pay rises last year, inflation over multiple years, whilst companies reap billions in profits is a joke.
