I’ve been thinking a lot about alternatives and what kind of world we would need to transition to in order to save the planet from the tipping point?

I’m guessing it would include people staying put where they live and not use cars or planes anymore, no production of new stuff anymore, stop using electricity and internet..

And all of this would require people to make money some other way, because there isn’t even enough land or animals there ( or people living in cities can’t just all move back to nature ) for people to just live off the land.

So does this mean that we still need a monetary system to transition out of our current system? And how could people still make money to cover their needs while no longer producing pollution?

Ps: I only uploaded the picture because it’s a requirement

  1. I don’t think we need that drastic of a societal change to our daily lives to save the world from climate tipping points. The immediate problem is burning of fossil fuels which needs to stop asap. As an accountant and economist, I think we need to tax the heck out of fossil fuels to incentivize, if you need electricity, it has to be clean; same goes for sustainable production, regenerative agriculture, circular economy, etc. The incentives are still off. We still don’t have a price on negative externalities like carbon. We are still subsidizing fossil fuels in 2023 and it blows my mind.

  2. Starts with scalable fusion – then Star Trek replicators
