Judge Chutkan has DENIED Trump’s motion to dismiss his criminal charges based on a claim of “presidential immunity”

A foregone conclusion, but this is the troublesome part:
>Trump, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, can immediately appeal the ruling, which could delay the trial while an appeals court and potentially the Supreme Court weigh the issue. The trial is currently scheduled to begin in March.
This is going to go to the circuit and then Supreme Court and is the single most imminent threat to delaying the March 4th trial date.
It’s very unlikely to succeed in any case as The Supreme Court has ruled against immunity claims regarding Trump before, but that’s not what Trump’s after here, he just wants delays.
The best case scenario is an expeditious ruling in the appellate court and then SCOTUS denying cert and refusing to hear the case, but there’s a lot left to be seen.
Worst case scenario, the trial is delayed for (hopefully) a short period of time.
I can see a hint of pale in his tint. Anyone else see less orange in his face than usual? Maybe it’s the light. 🤷♂️
But since he claims that he never pledged to support the Constitution then he should not get any protections from it. At least that is how I am allowing my logic to go tonight. Weak I know, but not nearly as weak as any GOP argument over the last few decades….
