The article left out Russia stole 350 foreign jet airliners on their soil/under lease and deserve a worse fate!
It’s very unlikely to “collapse” in some mass event like these articles have been implying since the start of the war. This is one of those cases of people looking at a graph and thinking nobody in Russia is going to do anything to mitigate the problem. Capacity will just decrease overtime as more airframes get cannibalized for parts. It won’t be dramatic for a while, just a slight uptick in minor accidents along with flights getting more and more expensive.
All while the chinese drone manufacturers are taking note and beefing up chinas military with 100 dollar drones instead of the J20
Aviation is maintenance/part intensive. Also, technicians in the field rely on tech support from OEM engineers on fixing “interesting” problems. That’s all gone now.
