AI will impact productivity growth, economic inequality, and industry concentration. In productivity growth, AI has the largest positive impact on new, less experienced, and less skilled workers, giving the largest gains in time saving and quality of work. So AI has the potential to both increase productivity and lower economic inequality. Open source AI models offer the opportunity for cheap customizable models available for everyone. People should not just use and buy AI models from Microsoft and Google, but to reduce industry concentration, use open source AI models from smaller companies, for decentralized innovation.
