I wonder how many place names from Ireland/Irish origin there are within the US, this is very interesting.

    Damn near *all* of them, I’d imagine.

  3. There is a Meagher County in Montana, named after Thomas Francis Meagher, who among other accomplishments was the first governor of the territory. There’s an excellent book written about him called The Immortal Irishman if you’re ever interested in reading more about a very interesting figure that was influential in Irish, Australian, and US history.

  4. There’s Plymouth and Barnstaple on the east coast, so many to be fair. New York !! Immigrants missing home or shear lack of imagination !??
