I’ll point out now… I am fun at parties.
But Nationwide was a rebranding of another building society which had merged with a few other building societies followed fairly swiftly by mergers with a couple more giving it a nationwide footprint from pretty much day one.
(For the love of god never look up the history of these things, it’s confusing as hell)

Nationwide has plagiarised the Natwest logo.
Nationwide is one of the very few Building Societies left in the UK. Most of the others converted to Banks in the 80’s
