  1. “The statistics do not include trains less than six minutes late, as Deutsche Bahn classifies those as on-time.”

I’d love to see the number with those included.

  2. And mainstream parties don’t want to get rid of the debt brake. No investments into public infrastructure and housing, a heavily aging workforce and massive spending on social programs at the same time will lead Germany into a deep recession that will last for many years.

  3. I would like to give some background information to that:

The state of German Bahn was declining because of budget cuts and privatisation in the past. What happens now is the consequence of that. Even though budgets have been raised and a rebuild has been started. Train relatet actions take a lot of time, like 1-3 years before the effects are felt. So to sum up: the state of German Bahn will decline next year before the rescue actions take effect in 2025.

  4. *Romania walks in*

Romania: Step aside, Germany. Watch and learn…

  5. Our teachers told us every year about how punctual germans are. They lied all along

  6. I am commuting every weekend with the intercity train. In the last two month I had 3 trains which had more than 2 hours delay, so I got 50% of the money refunded. When I am not in a hurry, I consider these delays a win.

  7. Trenitalia better step down its game if it wants to keep the lead.

  8. You know shit’s bad when the Swiss are getting tired of your late af trains holding their own network back.

  9. Germany is funny: absolutely stonkingly rich, but a cultural aversion to spending money, leading to significant under investment. I guess those hyperinflation scars run deep.

  10. 52%? That’s considered a successful day on Slovak railroads

  11. And people act like british trains are bad….

    70% arrive on time

87.6% arrive within 5 mins of time

    and 3.3% are cancelled.

thats not bad and all of this is ORR Figures as well, so im not making these facts up.

  12. My train from Edinburgh to London was delayed by 90 minutes due to signal failure. The cost of the ticket was refunded, which was a pleasant surprise.
