  1. So the headline made it sound like, to me anyway, the at it banned everyone from sympathizing with Nazis. Which, personally I disagree with. You should be able to associate with whom ever you want. Just be prepared for some consequences.

But the bill to my understanding just prevented representatives from association with Nazis. But I still feel the same way. The republicans clearly decided that associating with Nazis is what they want so hopefully Texas gives them some consequences. But I will not be holding my breath.

  2. So Democrats will be safe after their recent Nazi affiliation over wanting to genocide Jews

  3. Why would they abandon their base? What’s next? Ban associating with pedophiles, insurrectionists and domestic terrorists?

  4. Nazi sympathizers and Holocaust deniers are extremely worrying. I’m not surprised they want to be associated with this group .

The problem here is that many who are pro-Palestine are being called antisemitic.

You can be pro-Palestine and not support Hamas.
You can be pro-Israel and be anti-Netanyahu

Many of us are pro-Palestine and anti-Netanyahu

  5. You’re free to do whatever but you aren’t free from the consequences of that god damn it isn’t that hard.

You can use every colorful word in the dictionary but your boss can absolutely find you a distasteful wretch and fire you for it.

The public opinion is not with Nazi Sympathizers. They will be ridiculed and treated with disdain.

  6. > “It could put you on a slippery slope,” committee member Dan Tully said of the ban.

Yeah, one where you’d end up being called out for being a Nazi and Holocaust denier.

  7. Honestly what the hell is wrong with the people in Texas? It’s like they’ve forgotten how to be Americans.

  8. >“I just don’t understand how people who routinely refer to others as leftists, liberals, communists, socialists and RINOs (‘Republicans in Name Only’) don’t have the discernment to define what a Nazi is,” committee member Morgan Cisneros Graham told the Tribune after the vote.

  9. I hate trying to stay informed. You read shit like this and you just want to die from how insane it all is.

  10. Let’s learn about what the nazis are all about before texas gets around to banning that aspect of history from books too or are they suddenly all about inclusion?

  11. When you’re so desperate for votes that you have no problem tolerating nazis. Good job texas, we always knew you were trash.

  12. Not every Republican is a Nazi, but every Nazi is a Republican.

  13. The proposed demands were significantly watered down ahead of the party’s quarterly meeting this weekend. Rather than calling for a break from Defend Texas Liberty, the faction proposed general language that would have barred associations with individuals or groups “known to espouse or tolerate antisemitism, pro-Nazi sympathies or Holocaust denial.”

  14. To clarify for those interested, this wasn’t a ban attempting to violate people’s freedom of association protected under the 1st amendment like the headline indicates. This was a ban by the GOP for members of the GOP acting in the capacity of representing the GOP from publicly associating with Nazis and Nazi sympathizers. The majority voted that publicly associating with Nazis was too important to prohibit.

  15. There are run off elections in some places vote. Local and special and state elections happen all over the USA. They are not confined to election day and there are primaries as well. Pay attention and vote out republicans whenever you can and primary out uncooperative democrats.

  16. I don’t know where this information came from, talking to a man yesterday who said this country will be divided up into 5 quadrants he Is a pro-rumper, to quote Moses AKA Charlton Heston, they will have to pry my dead cold hands off my guns.

  17. Wonder why they went with that headline instead of “Texas GOP Approves Associating With Nazi Sympathizers”

  18. That there’s a slippery slope, y’all. Trump said they’s good people on both sides.

  19. That there’s a slippery slope, y’all. Trump said they’s good people on both sides.

  20. How would this not violate the first amendment freedom of association? I’m positive that’s not why they voted against it, but seems like a valid questions.

  21. Why would they ban meetings with some of their most ardent supporters?

  22. Does that include ban on associating with Putin sympathizers too?

  23. I am fucking blown away. This should have been an easy slam dunk for some free PR.

Instead they all change into Hugo Boss and boots.

  24. NAACP has staunchly defended a Nazi’s right to free speech and peaceful assembly. As a Jew I agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment. Bad ideas can only exist in a vacuum, but only when you expose them to the light and let them be seen for what they truly are is when we can dismiss them.

  25. Then they wouldn’t be allowed to speak with their constituents not the mention their best buddies.

  26. “Ban associating with my friends? Why would i do that?”

  27. Obviously, none of GOP has a good faith argument, but how exactly can one ban something like that legally?

Not illegal to be a piece of shit.
