I’ve been living in Estonia for a year now and can’t stop wondering why flights are generally more expensive compared with flights from cities like Stockholm, Riga, Warsaw, Budapest, and some other countries.
When making a [simple comparison](https://www.flightconnections.com/airlines) of available RyanAir routes from Tallinn it looks like 1/3 of the number of connections compared to Stockholm, and the flights on average 1.5-2x more expensive.
Is it higher airport handling fees? Some weird regulations? AirBaltic monopoly?

Fewer passengers so they need to get more money from them. Or maybe it’s because Estonia is overall kinda expensive.
Because lack of travelers.
Well i can tell you the answer why! Its landing and takeoff pays from TLL airport! Most of european airports literally have lower taxes on planes landing and taking off but not in TLL those get passed on to passengers.
