Is this a dig or just a casual statement?

  1. To me, it’s not a dig at all. It is like he is saying he wants to do a Mikel Arteta, but is holding back.

  2. This ain’t a dig at all, he’s indirectly stating that he wants to say how shit the refs were but knows not to as the League will try fuck him over for criticising the refs

  3. IMO I think this is a dig at the FA about what happened to Arteta for questioning a really terrible decision. He’s saying he feels the same way as Arteta, but knows he will get in trouble for saying the same kind of thing

  4. He’s already done it by referencing him. A smarter way to criticize the ref and avoid FA charges. Message is subtle but yet it’s clear.

  5. I think his reaction would have been very different if they had lost due a decision like that.

  6. It’s also a way of saying that Arteta was correct in his rants.

  7. I doubt it’s a dig. He and Arteta are good mates.

  8. Everyone saying it isn’t a dig: unpopular opinion, I think it is.

It’s classic mind games. Trying to name drop Arteta like he was weak by whining, and also basically saying the decision was shit without saying it. Using Mikel to make his point while simultaneously trying to make Arteta seem weak.

    This man mind games

  9. refs call games in favor for him 99/100. why would he bite the hand that feeds him? oil money is nice to have in your corner
