5. In the military people follow orders. Most soldiers would not follow unlawful orders. Many more would jump at the chance to crucify their commanders with ucmj than would follow them into some kind of coup.

7. No shit. The military generally represents the American public as a whole. It’s diverse. So that means a large portion of the military is sympathetic to, and supports, the insurrection on Jan 6th, and would love Trump to be president for life.

9. Of course there are. That’s why there were probably friends and cops at the Jan 6 insurrection. Not because of deep state, but because there are many extremist in those groups too.

18. I was active duty army for five years and national guard another three. I guarantee at least half of the people I served with would downplay the seriousness of January 6th, and I’m certain I’m lowballing that number.

29. I did some consulting work at a company and one of the sales people told me off hand that her son joined the military after the 2020 election. She said it in a way that meant he joined in response to the fact that Trump lost.

    I’m sure that kid isn’t in the count so definitely undercounting.

31. This seems to be narrow reporting. I suspect they are only discussing active conspiracies. Given my experience, way more than a few dozen will join Trump if he called for a civil war.
