Maybe the Garda could provide these farmers with body cams to wear to record situations like this?
They can check the recordings against people passport and drivers license pictures. Not an ideal solution but it’s better than the current scenario
Same types threatened to blow my brains out when I interrupted their lamping in my field. They know the Gardaí can’t respond fast enough to catch them at it in rural Ireland.

Ah yes “farm trespassers”
We all know what ethnic group is doing the trespassing
Pádraig Nally had issues like this too and the worst had to happen
It’s easy for me to say, not being a farmer, but I’d get a few guns. I’d confront and warn them the next time they come on the land.
If they come on again, id call AGS and fire some warning shots while on the line.
AGS will be quick to come out then.
I saw her on RTÉ talking about it. Apparently people are wandering onto farms across the country they said. Who are these people?
They will pick the farm that doesn’t have a big dog in sight. The solution is to rectify that.
I don’t know where all these cunts are living because where I’m living no one behaves this way. I have never had anyone trespass on my property and be so braisen about it. You still get thefts around here and the occasional assault and vandalism but no one really acts like this when confronted about being shitty in my experience. I’m not responding to the story, only the comments on this where the posters seem to be living in the wild West.
Get the gun. Things will only go very wrong for them.
Had a similar lovely group of lads and their 4 lurchers on our farm in September. They ran a group of 20 cows and calves through two electric fences until my neighbor got to them and told them off. They never said a word the whole way back to their cars, didn’t give a shit, and just fucked off.
My neighbour found them hunting with dogs on his land and reported them to the guards. They were caught and summoned to court. They were done for having dead hares on them out of season and all four individuals were fined. They never came back, for their own good, the same guy would leave lead earrings on them.
People are horrified by this behaviour and horrified by people like Phelan who snap. The failure of Gardaí is putting people’s lives at risk.
It’s just people ‘travelling through’. And they’re discriminated against so you should just give them your farm ofc

My Grandfather died at 45 years old leaving my Grandmother alone with 11 kids on the farm. These same type kept coming on her farm and threatened her. Her brother shot one of them and that put a stop to it. Terrible thing but I guess it had to happen
Fire one shot into the middle of them and fire one in the air and say you fired the one in the air first.

It’s insane we can’t have open and honest conversations about the good and bad aspects of “farm trespassers”.
How can we improve things together if we cannot talk about it.
Last year I was walking my dog on our farm when the dog went over and sniffed something, I then realized it was a man in cammo gear in the bushes. Some scumbag from cork city (were’ in Tipperary). He claimed the previous owner of the farm gave him permission (my father inherited the farm). There was another guy hiding at the other side of the ditch holding two dogs. I told them to fuck off, the guy started to get aggressive telling me “there was no need for that attitude”. I asked him where he was parked… he asked why, I said it didn’t mater and started to walk away… they ran back to their car parked outside a field at a neighboring farm.
The guards were useless, “It’S a CiVIL MAtTeR!” BS. Regardless of the fact they were breaking the law hunting with dogs (criminal) and trespassing (civil).
This scared the shit out of me. And honestly I haven’t felt safe since then. Imagine aggressive scum that like torturing small animals hiding in the bushes of your home.
Edit: Oh and to add these **WERE NOT Travelers**. This is a much wider issue in Irish society. The Guards are failing to enforce criminal trespass laws, animal abuse laws, and hunting laws. This has led to a lot of people from different backgrounds trespassing and doing what ever they like.
We should round up all these so-called hunters, coursing people, etc, and chase after them with guns, dogs and horses.
See them run for their lives, look at the mortal panic in their eyes the second before they’re torn apart by hounds.
