# Fellow Londoners, beloved tourists and Americans inexplicably posting here!
Time flies by, eh? The first thread last year was a great success (or I’d like to to think that way) at helping people out finding NYE parties. This is the second thread of it’s kind and aiming to help people, locals and visitors alike, to find something fun to do.
If you know me from the Weekly Nightlife thread, I usually try to keep things in budget and rarely recommend something with high entry fees but this is NYE where every venue is trying to capitalize on the high demand.
If you don’t plan and commit to certain events or parties early, they will either sell out or you end up paying way more money for last minute final release tickets. Hell, even now some events are on second or third release tickets so better get this ball rolling!
**DISCLAIMER:** This list is entirely based on my experiences, tastes (or lack thereof) and areas I prefer going out so you might not agree with my choices, it’s all good. Feel free to post what you think would be better and I’ll add to the OP. **This thread will get updated with new parties and events so keep an eye on it during the month!**

1. [STOP ASKING ABOUT WHERE YOU CAN WATCH THE FIREWORKS FOR FREE JESUS TAPDANCING CHRIST I HATE YOU ALL SO MUCH](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cmzcj9sjX7_/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=)
2. No, there are no free rooftops or super sekrit treehouses we hide from you, all actual Londoners know better than to be in the central during the shitfest that is NYE.
3. Do not assume you can find a place in anywhere central and popular (Soho, Shoreditch, Angel-Islington, West London, Hackney Central / Hackney Wick) the last minute but it wasn’t THAT bad as I predicted back in the last thread.
4. Internet services and phones absolutely shit themselves during events like this, plan ahead with your mates. TfL will also close off certain tube stations and bus services until a certain time so check those out if you have plans to move around.
5. Your best bet would be arriving early to your chosen area and looking around for somewhere to squat. If you think something like watching the fireworks then find a place to party, good luck. Some venues might get less crowded after 1 a.m. as we Londoners are extremely lame but yeah
6. No matter what, never, EVER go to Tiger Tiger
# The Master Lists for Major Parties:
**DICE FM NYE Parties List:** [https://dice.fm/browse/london/music/party?from=2023-12-31&until=2024-01-01](https://dice.fm/browse/london/music/party?from=2023-12-31&until=2024-01-01)
Dice is usually big on live music, alternative and commercial club nights.
**Resident Advisor Parties List:** [https://ra.co/events/uk/london?startDate=2023-12-31&endDate=2024-01-01](https://ra.co/events/uk/london?startDate=2023-12-31&endDate=2024-01-01)
Resident Advisor focuses on electronic music but you can also find live music and other types of parties. This is where you have to look for superclubs like Fabric, Drumsheds, Ministry of Sound and others
# Quick Guide or “I don’t want to think too much about travel and just want to have fun, where should I go?”
[Blues Kitchen Shoreditch:](https://theblueskitchen.com/shoreditch/event/new-years-eve-at-the-blues-kitchen/) **/ Camden / Brixton:** This is a personal favourite but also probably one of the most high energy crowd and best live music (Motown, funk and soul classics) in town.
>Ring in the New Year at the Blues Kitchen with our legendary house band! Three thrilling sets of live music embracing funk, soul and Motown vibes. Expect classics from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and more.
>
>Live music + DJs from 8pm – 3am. See you on the dance floor!
My recommendation will be the Shoreditch one but Camden and Brixton will be also heaving and having amazing bands. Tickets are at £22 which is very reasonable as NYE parties goes. You can reserve a dinner table to save up from the entry fee, the food is fantastic in there as well
[South London Soul Train – Peckham Levels:](https://ra.co/events/1800897) For the people who are not familiar, SLST is a LEGENDARY London music night and probably one thing that was consistently amazing every.single.time I went.
>SLST NYE, 2 FLOOR, 3 ROOM EPIC AT PECKHAM LEVELS!!! Sun Dec 31 (10pm-5am) – 2024 Is here, time to bring out the musical big guns, audio champagne and show you right in the dance over two floors and 3 jumping rooms. It’s a New Year and The South London Soul Train invites you to GET SOME, ALL NIGHT LONG! ROOM
>
>1 – Your host with the absolute soul, jazz, funk slinging most JAZZHEADCHRONIC joined by the 25 piece BRIXTON CHAMBER ORCHESTRA (BCO). BCO bringing their stunning DISCO ORCHESTRATED PROJECT Live and extremely direct to The SLST NYE Epic Live stage. The sounds of Michael Jackson to Earth Wind & Fire via Donna Summer explored in a contemporary 21st century classical fusion stylee.
It’s basically one live stage and two DJ rooms (the format was like that since forever) and dancing until the early hours of the NYD. Anyone, local or visitor must experience this at least once, full stop!
**TICKETS ARE CURRENTLY AT £10, DON’T MISS OUT!**
[Up on The Roof NYE Norman Jay MBE and Don’t Fuck With Disco @ Prince of Wales Brixton](https://pow-london.com/event/up-on-the-roof-nye-with-norman-jay-mbe/): This is probably the one I’ll be going if I’m not going to Archer Street’s NYE Party.
Norman Jay and Don’t Fuck With Disco are two incredible disco, soul and funk DJs and this will be the last ever Up on The Roof in POW which is a DAMN SHAME!
If you don’t want to get involved with the slog that will be the central London, drop by to Brixton, have a large Jerk Chicken or Oxtail at Jerk Island and go to this party.
This recommendation also goes for people looking for “non-touristy” parties. This will be all locals and maybe few out of city visitors for Norman Jay but this is usually how we party down in the sarf
**Tickets are at £20 already so grab some FAST!**
[Jazz Cafe NYE @ Camden](https://ra.co/events/1799451): One of the best live music and clubs of London, and probably one of the few reasons I’d endure going to Camden on a Saturday evening.
>We bid farewell to 2023 in the only way we know how, with the return of our renowned New Year’s Eve showcase. A party like no other with a blend of live music and DJs to keep our dancefloor alight, late into the night. With a handpicked selection of global talent guiding us through the evening, we are so excited to dive back into our biggest celebration of the year.
Jazz Cafe is an iconic London venue that never fails to bring together the best talent in jazz and blues. If you’re too bouguie to take the 35 bus after 3 a.m., this is where you want to be.
[Soul City @ Camden Stables:](https://thejazzcafelondon.com/event/soul-city-new-years-eve-at-camden-stables/) Soul City is actually Jazz Cafe’s Saturday club night but for NYE they are moving to the nearby Camden Stables. Soul City is a fantastic club night and relatively affordable version of the one above (because no live music)
>This New Year’s Eve, Soul City takes over Camden Stables for an unforgettable, non-stop house and disco fiesta.
>
>We’ve been given the keys to one of London’s most extraordinary spaces – the legendary horse stables of Camden Market.
>
>Picture this: a beautiful wooden dance floor, fancy décor, and hidden chill-out rooms, creating the ultimate playground for you and your crew.
>
>This isn’t any old NYE party… Our new immersive venue will keep you moving and exploring alongside your favourite people as the clock turns midnight.
>
>Prepare to be blown away as we dance away the year in true Soul City fashion.
[The Soulful NYE @ Night Tales Hackney](https://ra.co/events/1724632): Night Tales is a good option if you have working knees because by god it’s super dance-y in there.
>NYE at The Loft with SOULFUEL! Music for the soul. Exploring the global tapestry of feel-good sounds. From funk, rare-groove, disco, house & more – SoulFuel brings you nothing but old school groovers & new school gems.
**There are tickets for £5 right now (entry before 8 p.m., you might as well) so it’s an absolute no brainer for something less than a pint now.**
[Spiritland Presents NYE @ Omeara:](https://omearalondon.com/event/spiritland-present-new-years-eve/) One of the great south London venues, Omeara having a three stage party. If you’d like to move between different genres of music, this one is the party for you
>LINEUP
>
>Room 1 // House & Disco // Luke Solomon + X-Press 2 + Hilit Kolet
>
>Room 2 // Funk, Boogie, Hip-Hop & Electro // Patrick Force & Ross Allen + Mr Shiver + Sarahtonin
>
>Room 3 // Pop, Italo & Hi-NRG // Mike Menace + Emotional Pop
It’s like three parties in one place. **Tickets are selling wildly fast so buy them now while it’s £30!**
[New Years Eve Mini Festival @ Studio 338:](https://dice.fm/event/bodam-release-new-years-eve-mini-festival-31st-dec-studio-338-london-tickets) Studio 338 is massive, loud and will be absolutely rammed with people. Honestly, the idea of getting in at 4 p.m. fresh and rested and emerging as a cave goblin at 4 a.m. is a London classic.
>One of the most highly-anticipated lineup’s of the year and as promised – it’s a big one.
>
>On Sunday 31st December we bring together some of the most influential and musical visionaries in electronic music to join what is one of the most exciting collections of artists to play at Studio 338 & Release for what will be our biggest New Years Eve party ever.
>
>This will also be the first use of a brand new Winter area to create a NYE Mini-Festival across the day & night and all areas of Studio 338.
This will most likely to sell out so better grab your tickets early.
[Rivoli Ballroom NYE Gala (Family Event):](https://www.designmynight.com/london/whats-on/new-years-eve-party/new-years-eve-gala-ball-at-the-rivoli-ballroom-1?t=tickets) This is a bit of an outlier since Rivoli Ballroom rarely, if ever, hosts family events like this. So if you have children and want to have a night out with them in a historical ballroom, this is a good one
>As you know, we love a party at the Rivoli and what better opportunity to have one than on New Year’s Eve in one of the oldest Ballroom’s in London.
>
>All our nights are usually adult only, 21 years plus but we consider ourselves to be a family place, so we’re making New Years Eve a family event. We are inviting adults and children over 6 years old as long as the children are supervised!. Its a night for the whole family.
>
>We want you to have a great time!
>
>The DJ will set the party atmosphere with a mix of Rivoli specials, jive, ballroom, all mixed together with pop, upbeat festive tracks and party classics to say bye bye to 2023 and bring in the new year celebrations.
[Classic HipHop NYE @ The Old Queens Head Angel](https://www.theoldqueenshead.com/event/nye-at-the-old-queens-head-3/): Probably one of the best, if not the best, HipHop nights in the city. The pub itself is also gorgeous and upstairs is always a riot
>Welcome to New Years Eve at the Old Queens Head. 📷
>
>We’re back celebrating New Years the only way we know how, with two floors of pure NYE naughtiness… sound tracked by the biggest and best Hip hop, RnB and afrobeats bangers from the 90s, 00s and current day, it’s gonna be a madness 📷
This is a no-brainer if you are like me and love the 90s/00s HipHop but if rock is more you jam:
[Deptford Norther Soul Club NYE @ The Garage:](https://dice.fm/event/7bo9b-deptford-northern-soul-club-nye-31st-dec-the-garage-london-tickets) If you were following my Weekly threads, you probably know I love Deptford Northern Soul Club. Even if you don’t dance, it’s an amazing experience to watch Northern Soul dancers and vibe with the music.
[White Heat (Indie/Post-Punk) @ The Lexington:](https://dice.fm/event/26r2m-white-heat-nye-party-31st-dec-the-lexington-london-tickets?lng=en) If you want to have something alternative that will be also packed with people you can sing Franz Ferdinand or Blondie songs together, The Lexington is where you wan to be.
White Heat is a long running club night and probably one of the best indie music club nights in the city. I will never stop telling that one time a girl stage dived to our group and sprained my arm during Poppin’ Off, as well.
[Butch Please NYE @ The Clapham Grand:](https://dice.fm/event/a5d27-butch-please-new-year-new-butch-31st-dec-the-clapham-grand-london-tickets) This is for my **lesbian, bisexual women, trans and non-binary friends ONLY** so this is not for my fellow straight cis homies (in case the name of the night didn’t made it obvious)
>NEW YEAR NEW BUTCH
>
>Acts & DJ’s TBA
>
>This is a night for lesbian and bisexual women, trans and non-binary people. We celebrate butches and butch culture. Please help us hold this space and do not bring cis-male partners and friends. Cis men will not be permitted entry.
Acts are not announced yet but The Grand is always full on rager and I expect lots of amazing acts and non stop partying.
[NYE A Disco Odyssey @ Hootananny Brixton:](https://hootanannybrixton.co.uk/hoots-nye-23-a-disco-odyssey/) The lineup is not announced yet but Hoots is in my top favourite venues in London (hell, probably ever) so I’m sure it will be amazing.
Strongly recommended, beer garden, pool tables, pub, street food stalls and best crowd in the whole city.
>**Join us on a Disco Odyssey this New Years Eve at Hoots**
>
>**Expect the finest live bands and DJs spinning Disco, Rare Grooves, Motown, Funk & Soul**
>
>**We’ll be going into the late hours of the night with a extended late license until 5am**
>
>**This one is for all the Soul Brothers and Sisters**
>
>**Lineup TBA**
# Honorable Mentions or “I’m tired and you have to do your own damn research about tickets”
**Archer Street Soho / SW11 / Notting Hill:** This is the party for people who want to dress up, tickets are £55 which includes some drinks and food (but like not proper dinner). I personally recommend Soho, which will absolutely sell out.
**JuJus Bar:** They’re having a HipHop night, recommended
**Ain’t Nothing But Blues:** They usually host great live music on NYE, if you want to keep it low key but still want to be out
**The Book Club** is also having a 90s/00s Hiphop and RnB night called Hey-Ya, haven’t been to Book Club in ages but it was quite fun in the past
**Natural History Museum** is probably having their NYE but I’m not going to put it in the main list. It’ll be nice but also expensive
**Southbank Centre NYE** is also expensive but one of the best places to watch the fireworks plus have a party. That shit is way out of my tax bracket but be my guest.
**Old Street Records** is having an HipHop and DnB set, if you want to keep it in Shoreditch
