Bringing back memories of yesteryear and my mates dad owning a few from the 80s onwards. Think he stopped around 2000(ish). But just seeing the Rover badge is fantastic (and a reminder that I’m old 😂).
This year my dad and I did a 2500 mile road trip in a 1996 rover 216 cabriolet and it didn’t miss a beat. I reckon we were the first convertible 216 to make it through the glossglockner pass it was incredible!

I drove one of these when I was about 25 to 28. Absolute cracker of a car – plenty of oomph (mine was the 2L diesel with a mod box thing on the MAF), really comfortable, nice and quiet, really nice interior (provided you like the walnut look), and loads of space. I think about it a fair bit, especially when I’m doing a long motorway journey or am stuck in traffic (or both).
