  1. Ok then why did you choose to dismantle all your nuclear reactors? And use COAL instead!?

  2. Yeah, sure, take your time. All the climate scientists say we have decades left before we have to worry.

EDIT: Just out of curiosity, for the next person who’s going to downvote me – Is it because you don’t believe in climate change, because you think it’s unfair to demand immediate action from politicians who are “trying,” or do I *really* have to put a /s at the end of that?

EDIT2: You cowards lack the courage of your convictions.

  3. >”The technologies are there: wind power, photovoltaics, electric motors, green hydrogen”

Wind and solar are not even close to being economically competitive or scalable to current power needs. Electric *motors* don’t actually, you know, *generate* energy (I sometimes genuinely wonder how many people understand that); switching to electric vehicles arguably makes the problem worse on a largely coal power grid. Green hydrogen is an enormously expensive and inefficient pipe dream, just like biodiesel.

How many gallons of snake oil are we supposed to swallow here? How come the extremely serious issue of climate change can’t be discussed in serious and realistic terms?

  4. We need to stop this and focus on Russia. Only then can we focus on the next step. We cannot walk up the second hill, we need to put the first hill behind us first.

  5. Rich coming from a country that killed all their nuclear reactors, then reopened their coal plants when Russia did what everyone knew they were going to. The problem with the greens is they want action now with no real thought to how to implement those changes effectively at scale. It looks good on paper to their voters, so they go for the short term goals with no forward thinking policies.

  6. I’m no expert but didn’t Germany dismantle their nuclear energy options ? Also, do they even have the capability to run on just renewable energy ? Germany doesn’t strike me as a country I’d be buying wind or solar in..

  7. It’s scary that someone this idealistic can run a country. He’s effectively stating his goal is to make Germany more poor than sun Saharan African, and the people applaud him for it
